1915 |
Cylindrical shaped Traveling Ink in BHR. The front unscrews to reveal a funnel shaped dispenser. The user pushes the star clad button at the top to let a measured amount of air to enter the cylinder and an equal amount of ink to be released into the pen. 5" x 5/8". Exceptionally rare! The smallest amount of wear to the mountain logo, otherwise near mint. Shown with cap removed so you can see the filler nozzle. |
| Parker |
1921 |
Duofold Sr. "Bandless" BF in Red Hard Rubber. GFT Perhaps the rarest of the Duofolds – the first year of introduction with the giant "DUOFOLD" barrel imprint. Almost never found without a cap crack, since the lack of the cap band put great stress on the rubber when posting the cap. This one is perfect! Medium/broad nib. Near mint+ |
| Parker |
1967 |
75 Keepsake cartridge/converter-fill in smooth Sterling Silver. The marketing design was for the purchaser to engrave the cap and barrel with dates of birthdays, anniversaries, etc, to help them to remember these important occasions. It failed in the marketplace and was discontinued a year later, making them very hard to find today, especially MIB. GFT. New-old-stock. Mint in original form-filled black box with red velvet lined inner box, cartridges and converter. Close-up photo in box |
| Betzler & Wilson |
1900 |
#2 size eyedropper-fill straight-holder in BHR with alternating abalone and pearl panels. Strikingly beautiful! B&W, founded in the early 1890's, was an Akron, Ohio based manufacturer of high quality, very beautiful pens. GFT. Medium/fine, extra-flexible nib. Has been filled, otherwise near mint+. |
| Parker |
1910 |
"Black Giant" eyedropper-fill in Black Hard Rubber. Parker's first "Giant," the "Red Giant," introduced in 1909 at $10, failed because the cap was too brittle and Parker was losing too much money honoring their warrantees. This was less of a problem with the "Black Giant," introduced soon afterwards. These are found clipless, with a "split" clip (open in the back), and a full washer clip, such as the nickel plated clip on this pen. They also are found with no cap imprint and with the large "Parker Black Giant" imprint, such as this one has. Both the barrel and cap imprints have some wear, but are fully readable. The pen also came in two lengths; this being the longer version. The huge #12 nib is a sight to behold (fine point). Very rare, very beautiful and very desirable! |
| Triad |
1930 |
#6 size (the largest made) LF in Black & Pearl. The highly sought after triangular shaped pen which screws open and shut by turning the knurled knob at the top of the cap. GFT. 14K signed Triad nib (medium). Owner's imprint (R. O. Miller), a tad of ambering and a one professionally sealed cap lip split. Despite the defects, still excruciatingly rare and desirable! |
| Waterman |
1930 |
494 LF in sterling silver "Bayleaf" overlay. One of Waterman's most beautiful patterns. Rare. Fine, manifolding nib. Near mint. |
| Waterman |
1927 |
42 Continental Overlay Safety eyedropper-fill in 18K gold-filled. Cap in high relief with (6) frolicking Cherubs (Putti) bordered on both the top and bottom with a row of flowers. Relief clip and cap-top. Barrel is "Pansy Panel." "Figural" Continental Safety pens are very rare! Fine, flexible nib. A few very minor scars to the smooth metal just above the turning knob, otherwise near mint. Unrestored. |

1910 |
Model 15 Turban-Top eyedropper-fill in BHR with pearl slabs and "Filigree" cap. Note the turban-top is covered in G/F! #2 "Keyhole" nib (extra-fine, extra-flexible). Has been filled (100 years ago?), otherwise near mint+ |
| Parker |
1946 |
"Red Band" 51 button-fill in black. Parker's attempt to make a button-fill 51. Designed to alleviate the problem of flooding collectors in the Vacumatic-fill 51, it's quite rare today, as it didn't succeed in the marketplace. There are two versions, the earlier (like this example) with the red band in plastic, and the other with the red band made from aluminum. Most found have no barrel imprint, while a few have been found with the 1946 date code. Medium nib. Near mint. Shown open. |
| Torelli, Brad |
