Spectacular Vintage Pens - Current Catalog #65 (December 2012)

Parker 1910 Model 15 Turban-Top eyedropper-fill in BHR with grooved pearl slabs which glow "pink iridescent" in the light (very rare). "Filigree" cap. #2 fine, flexible nib. Cap indicia engraved in script: "GEH." Has been filled (100 years ago?), otherwise near mint+
Conklin 1920 #4 size Crescent-fill in Red Hard Rubber. Deep, crisp imprints, without the wear normally found. Correct BHR gripping section. GFT. Fine nib. A tad of brassing to the high points of the clip (the very top and bottom), otherwise near mint+
Montblanc 1915 Cylindrical shaped Traveling Ink in BHR. The front unscrews to reveal a funnel shaped dispenser. The user pushes the star clad button at the top to let a measured amount of air to enter the cylinder and an equal amount of ink to be released into the pen. 5" x 5/8". Exceptionally rare! The smallest amount of wear to the mountain logo, otherwise near mint. Shown with cap removed so you can see the filler nozzle.
Parker 1921 Duofold Sr. "Bandless" BF in Red Hard Rubber. GFT Perhaps the rarest of the Duofolds – the first year of introduction with the giant "DUOFOLD" barrel imprint. Almost never found without a cap crack, since the lack of the cap band put great stress on the rubber when posting the cap. This one is perfect! Medium/broad nib. Near mint+
Parker 1967 75 Keepsake cartridge/converter-fill in smooth Sterling Silver. The marketing design was for the purchaser to engrave the cap and barrel with dates of birthdays, anniversaries, etc, to help them to remember these important occasions. It failed in the marketplace and was discontinued a year later, making them very hard to find today, especially MIB. GFT. New-old-stock. Mint in original form-filled black box with red velvet lined inner box, cartridges and converter. Close-up photo in box
Betzler & Wilson 1900 #2 size eyedropper-fill straight-holder in BHR with alternating abalone and pearl panels. Strikingly beautiful! B&W, founded in the early 1890's, was an Akron, Ohio based manufacturer of high quality, very beautiful pens. GFT. Medium/fine, extra-flexible nib. Has been filled, otherwise near mint+.
Parker 1910 "Black Giant" eyedropper-fill in Black Hard Rubber. Parker's first "Giant," the "Red Giant," introduced in 1909 at $10, failed because the cap was too brittle and Parker was losing too much money honoring their warrantees. This was less of a problem with the "Black Giant," introduced soon afterwards. These are found clipless, with a "split" clip (open in the back), and a full washer clip, such as the nickel plated clip on this pen. They also are found with no cap imprint and with the large "Parker Black Giant" imprint, such as this one has. Both the barrel and cap imprints have some wear, but are fully readable. The pen also came in two lengths; this being the longer version. The huge #12 nib is a sight to behold (fine point). Very rare, very beautiful and very desirable!
Triad 1930 #6 size (the largest made) LF in Black & Pearl. The highly sought after triangular shaped pen which screws open and shut by turning the knurled knob at the top of the cap. GFT. 14K signed Triad nib (medium). Owner's imprint (R. O. Miller), a tad of ambering and a one professionally sealed cap lip split. Despite the defects, still excruciatingly rare and desirable!
Waterman 1930 494 LF in sterling silver "Bayleaf" overlay. One of Waterman's most beautiful patterns. Rare. Fine, manifolding nib. Near mint.
Waterman 1927 42 Continental Overlay Safety eyedropper-fill in 18K gold-filled. Cap in high relief with (6) frolicking Cherubs (Putti) bordered on both the top and bottom with a row of flowers. Relief clip and cap-top. Barrel is "Pansy Panel." "Figural" Continental Safety pens are very rare! Fine, flexible nib. A few very minor scars to the smooth metal just above the turning knob, otherwise near mint. Unrestored.

Extraordinary Vintage Pens - Catalog #64 (September 2012)

Aurora 1929 Extraordinary Pens Duplex lever-fill Set in Jade with Black ends. The "Duplex" was Aurora's first celluloid pen. This is one of the rarer models, with its repousse clip having a floral filigree design and three cap bands. Even rarer to find it with its matching mechanical pencil. Medium, triple-flexible nib! The pen has some slight ambering (a bit more on the cap than the barrel), otherwise near mint in original box (box a bit threadbare on top). Close-up of set in box.
Aurora 1929 Twist-activated pencil for above set.
Conklin 1917 S4 Crescent-fill in Red Mottled Hard Rubber. Very early model, with slip-cap (non-threaded). Sports the very early and rare Von Valkenberg spring loaded "Pat. Pend" rocker clip. GFT. #3, fine, triple-flexible nib. A perfect example! New-old-stock. Mint.
Grieshaber 1930 #2 LV ring-top "Painted" Set in BHR. Wonderful Art Deco highly geometric design in Green, Black, Orange and Gold. These hand-painted sets are incredibly difficult to find! Fine, flexible nib. New-old-stock. Mint in original box. Close-up of set in box.
Grieshaber 1930 Twist-activated pencil for above set.
Columbus 1924 # 4 size Safety eyedropper-fill in Cardinal Hard Rubber (extremely rare!). Columbus started in 1919 and their first products were black safety pens. In 1924 they registered their trademark and changed from a one line to a three line barrel imprint. This is one of their earliest red hard rubber safeties, with its long cap. Broad nib. Has been filled, otherwise near mint in original box. Bottom seal unrestored. Close-up of pen in box.
Omas 1945 Colorado double-barreled, double nibbed PIF in Black with "scissor" barrel configuration. NPT. Red dot & white dot on gripping sections so you know which side has which color ink. Incredible pen, almost never found in this condition. Shown open. The scissor "swivel" allows the user to fill each of the two reservoirs separately. Medium/fine nibs. Near mint. [Two available]. Shown open.
Parker 1910 Model 15 Turban-Top eyedropper-fill in BHR with pearl slabs and "Filigree" cap. Note the turban-top is covered in G/F! #2 "Keyhole" nib (extra-fine, extra-flexible). Has been filled (100 years ago?), otherwise near mint+
Parker 1946 "Red Band" 51 button-fill in black. Parker's attempt to make a button-fill 51. Designed to alleviate the problem of flooding collectors in the Vacumatic-fill 51, it's quite rare today, as it didn't succeed in the marketplace. There are two versions, the earlier (like this example) with the red band in plastic, and the other with the red band made from aluminum. Most found have no barrel imprint, while a few have been found with the 1946 date code. Medium nib. Near mint. Shown open.
Torelli, Brad 2011 "139" Plunger-fill in Pearl Grey (Grey with Silver Pearl Striations). This is the same material Omas used for their Paragon. An incredibly beautiful celluloid, made by this master penmaker into an incredible pen reminiscent of Montblanc's masterpiece! Fine nib, with a tad of flex. New-old-stock. Mint.

Fine Vintage Pens - Catalog #63 (June 2012)

Anonymous 1932 #4 BF in Blue Pearl Marble. Pullman/Meteore style mechanism where the user pushes up the barrel sleeve to reveal the nib which moves upwards through a hinged trap door. Reverse action retracts the nib back into the pen. Made in three other colors: Red Pearl, Golden Pearl and Green Pearl. GPT. Medium/broad nib. Near mint.
Aurora 1930 Internationale No. 50 LF in Black. The lever is on the very bottom of the barrel. Rare model, and quite striking with its tapered cap and squared off barrel. Three cap bands, with the middle band wider and in the Greek Key design. Large #5 nib (broad, extra-flexible). The Internationale came in 4 sizes, the No. 50 being the largest. New-old-stock. Mint.
Chameleon Fountain Pen Co. (Chicago) 1925 Double-nibbed #6 size bulb-fill in Black and Dark Pearl. Extremely rare and desirable! The color bands show the color of the ink for each reservoir and nib. The cap screws on both ends. Shown both open and closed. One of the "Warranted 14K" nibs is fine, the other is medium. Some areas of the celluloid are darker than others, which could be ambering, and a spot of brassing at the top of the clip, otherwise near mint.
Waterman

1910

#412 SF SLEEVE-FILLER in Sterling Silver "Filigree" pattern on BHR. A sliding sleeve moves to reveal the thumb-operated filling mechanism. Fine, extra-flexible nib. Indicia engraved in fancy script: "J.J. Buxa" Wear to the model number imprinted on the bottom of the barrel, otherwise near mint.
Sheaffer 1959 PFM III Snorkel Demonstrator in Transparent. Correct half-black cap and black shell. Medium/fine nib. near mint+.
Montblanc 1935 322 button-fill in Lapis. Outstandingly rare and beautiful! GFT. Medium nib. The cap a tad brighter than the barrel (the color is better than 99% found), otherwise near mint. [Two available]
Montblanc 1941 224 PL push-knob-fill in Platinum. Perhaps Montblanc's most beautiful celluloid! GFT. Wonderful, fine, flexible, italic nib. Near mint.
Montblanc 1945 138 Meisterstuck PIF in Black Celluloid. GFT. Exceptionally beautiful example with the long barrel window and perfect vertical lines. Two-toned, medium/broad, italic alloy nib (138s never came with a gold nib). Near mint+ (could be new-old-stock). I doubt you'll ever find a nicer example! [For two additional 138's, see item #132 and #133].
Montblanc 1946 139 Meisterstuck PIF in Black Celluloid. GFT, except for outer cap bands which are in sterling silver. Visualated barrel with all the vertical pinstriping intact. Three-tone, broad nib. Near mint+.
